🎬 The Call of the Wild Zangan
The Call of the Wild Zangan is a five-part documentary series that journeys through the diverse landscapes and wildlife habitats of Zanjan Province in northwestern Iran. Directed and produced by Esmaeil Karami, the series blends scientific research with poetic storytelling to create a vivid portrait of nature’s resilience and beauty.
The opening episode, Andia, begins with field and laboratory studies led by Dr. Nasrollah Abbasi and his paleontology students, who examine fossils that reveal traces of life from distant geological eras. From these ancient remains, the narrative flows into the living wilderness of today—antelopes roaming the plains, wild goats scaling the mountains, and rivers sustaining countless species.
Subsequent episodes explore other key habitats, including Sorkhabad, Angooran, and Zandigan, offering a panoramic view of Zanjan’s ecological richness. Through striking cinematography, meticulous fieldwork, and lyrical narration, the series bridges past and present, science and art.
The Call of the Wild Zangan is both a celebration of Iran’s natural heritage and a call to preserve it for generations to come
