Premiere of the documentary series The Call of the Wild Zangan on IRIB Documentary Channel
The five-part documentary series The Call of the Wild Zangan, directed and produced by Esmaeil Karami, began airing on December 26th (5th of Dey) on IRIB Documentary Channel. Each episode runs for 50 minutes and will be broadcast every Friday at 22:00, with re-runs the following day at 6:00 and 12:30.
This series offers a comprehensive and poetic exploration of the wildlife habitats of Zanjan Province, going beyond the city of Zanjan to highlight the diverse ecosystems across the region.
The first episode, “Andia”, opens with field and laboratory research conducted by Dr. Nasrollah Abbasi and his paleontology students, examining fossils that reveal traces of life from distant geological eras. The narrative then transitions to the present-day wildlife of Zanjan, drawing a powerful connection between the province’s ancient natural history and its living ecosystems.
